GTFOH!!!! Eminem the greatest rapper alive???? I don't think so......

OK, I was on yahoo today and I was compelled to write about this, they spoke about an article in Vibe on who the best rapper alive was. One Blogger, Billy Johnson Jr. gave his opinion and I agree with him 100%. He is NOT the best rapper alive, I know he is one of the best selling Rappers of all time, but think about this, where would be he today if he Didn't have Dr. Dre? Would he be the best rapper alive? I do not take anything away from Em because he is a talented rapper, there are some rappers that can really bring it. I can't even stomach Rap right now and I'm 30 years old. Maybe it's just me getting my grown man on, but Him as the Best Rapper? Wrong...... mostly what i hear from him is how much he hates his Ex-Wife and how many people he can kill. the fan base he has really loves that, not my cup of tea but eh. I would put Jay-Z, Nas, Andre 3000 and a host of others ahead of him, heck give me Big Daddy Kane any day. I think Vibe dropped the bomb big time on this because they set this "Bracket" up of rapper like March Madness. They put underdogs against big heavyweights, Here are some of the, "Contestans" in the, "Best Rapper Alive" contest

Lil' Kim vs. Lauryn Hill
Lupe Fiasco vs. Q-Tip
Mos Def vs. Talib Qweli
Ghostface Killah vs. Raekwon
Method Man vs. Redman
Common vs. Black Thought

OK.... Pretty good arguments on these rappers, I would hate to see any of them lose except for Lil Kim, (News Flash Plastic Girl You are wack and forever will be in my opinion.)
Then we get stuff like this and I was left scratching my head.

Andre 3000 vs. Dizzee Rascal
Eminem vs. Soulja Boy
Lil' Wayne vs. Trina
T.I. vs. Shawty Lo
Ludacris vs. Young Dro

GTFOH!!!!!! Every one knows Lil Wayne will run circles around Trina, why is she even in here? Put some real MC's on here, this is ridiculous to even include Soulja Boy, Shawty Lo, Young Dro, and Dizzee Rascal, even though I think Dizzee is Dope but 3 Stacks is a monster on the mic. I could go on and on because I know a few underground rappers who is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Em, especially is ol' buddy Royce Da 5'9" you want to talk about one of the best rappers alive, check Em's Slim Shady CD and listen to Bad Vs. Evil and tell me who is better. Sorry ya'll I'm just venting because arguments like this shouldn't be happening, in actuality, it's a big popularity contest, doesn't matter who has skills, it's about how many records are sold and how many ways you can make a quick buck making a BS song.

My question to you is who is your top 5 rappers of all time.
F.Y.I. No Soulja Boy or Dem Franchise Boys, and tell me why.

Okay Superman...calm down...Em is arguably one of the best rappers alive...listen to "Renegade" feat Jay-Z and you tell me who is better! lol

My top 5...this is dead/alive btw
1. Tupac - Nuff said
2. Nas - Nuff said
3. Outkast (both spit crazy)
4. tie between Redman/Ghostface/Raekwon
- they all go hard, and dont dumb it down!

5. Talib Kweli - because he is just too ill! Beautiful Struggle was a classic to me! And Eardrum was super dope!

But my top 5 as of this exact moment...alive rappers...:
1. Nas - nuff said lol
2. Andre 3000 - Killin everything!
3. T.I. - Did you hear Paper Trail? Dayum!
4. EMINEM -- Cause he's a beast!
5. Game - dropped ball on LAX, still respectable

I was pretty shocked myself when I heard that they deemed Enimen the best rapper alive. I was stunned and know that a very uneducated individual put the list together. Not to say that Em ain't good because he can hold his own and has a nice flow even though his lyrics are hard to swallow...however, he wouldn't have ANY of what he has if it had not been for others who were put under him on the list!! Being I have eclectic taste in regards to rap and hip hop, there are and were so many undiscovered gems...those who had mad skills, crazy lyrics...but never got or kept national attenions. Can we all go to Vegas and sit in on a Souls of Mischief set??

Peace,

1) Rakim (Your favorite mc's favorite mc. The best who ever did it.)
2) KRS-One (Kris is Hip-Hop personified. Kris makes protest music)
3) Nasir Jones (Next Level MC. If he had cut the fat on Streets Disciples it would have been every bit the classic that Illmatic is)
4) Big Daddy Kane (Despite his questionable descent into pimpery, he was still an incredible lyricist. Far ahead of his time)
5) Inspectah Deck/GZA/Ghostface (If the WU had been disciplined they would still have the game in a headlock) and..

Slick Rick (Probably the most underrated MC of all time. RIck delivered ill line after ill line but somehow never appears on cats' Fav MCs lists)
